Gail Boyd - Chairperson
Gail Boyd is a native of Roanoke, Virginia and is a graduate of the former Jefferson High School. She is a devoted member of Melrose Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church and has served as the Sabbath School Superintendent, Lower Division Leader, Cradle Roll/Kindergarten teacher, Community Service Assistant along with singing in the Gospel Ensemble choir. Gail is an advocate for the homeless through the Expect the Greater Project. She is a mother of four and grandmother of thirteen.
Billy Word - Vice Chairperson
Billy is a retired firefighter. He is a 1967 graduate of Lucy Addison High School. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1969 and received an Honorable Discharge in 1971. He was employed by the City of Roanoke Fire Department in June 1976 and retired in 2001 after 25 years of service.
Fritz Reid -Treasurer
Fritz is currently an Information Technology Specialist for The Orvis Company which has been in business since 1856, specializing in fly fishing sport. One of his many responsibilities is to reconcile the company’s daily sales with the bank’s deposits. He finished his secondary education at the Anchovy High School and attended Harrison Memorial School.
Angela Williams-Secretary & Daycare Director
Angela is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduates from Rutgers University with a Bachelor's degree in 1992 and has studies Early Childhood Education as Virginia Western Community College. Angela has held various leadership positions in the Roanoke community and has over twenty yeas of program management and grant writing experience. Her passion is educating children and youth to reach their highest potential in life.
C. Shaun Arthur - Pastor
Pastor Shaun Arthur is a proud graduate of Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ministerial Theology. He also earned a Masters of Divinity degree from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. He is married to the former Lauren Nembhard and they have two small children. He previously served on his church's school and daycare board while pastoring in Columbus, OH.
Hermania Ferguson - Church Representative
Hermania is an Ordained Minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She is a graduate of Jacksonville Theological Seminary with a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and has studied Business Administration at Virginia Western Community College. She has held several leadership positions at the church and is currently President of the Community Services Federation of the Allegheny West Conference. Hermania is the treasurer of the Westside Elementary School PTA and is currently employed with Wells Fargo Bank as a Loan Documentation Specialist.
Delores Ferguson – Marketing Specialist
Delores is an active member of the Melrose Avenue Seventh Day Adventists Church. She retired as a manager with Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) Manager with over 30 years of service. She was a recipient of Bell Atlantic’s Service to our Customers Award. Her background includes Certified Training and Development Specialist, Certified Ergonomist, Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, and Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling from Word of Life Theological Seminary. She also studied at Virginia Western Community College, Rutgers University, The Wharton School, Jacksonville Theological Seminary, and graduated from a specialized program at the University of Maryland University College. Her hobbies include writing poetry.
